Prof. Federico Finchelstein

Federico Finchelstein is the University in Exile Research Professor at the New School for Social Research, where he also directs the Janey Program in Latin American Studies. He has written 8 books and numerous articles on the history of fascism, populism and dictatorship, Latin American history, the Holocaust, and Jewish history. His numerous works include The Wannabe Fascists: A Guide to Understanding the Greatest Threat to Democracy (UC Press, 2024) and From Fascism to Populism in History (UC Press, 2017). He has also written widely for news publications including the New York Times, The Guardian, and Argentinian outlets. He previously taught at Brown University and received his PhD from Cornell University.

Prof. Julio Montero

A graduate of University College London and Universidad Nacional de La Plata, Julio Montero teaches as an Associate Professor in the Department of Law at the University of San Andrés, where he also serves as the Director of Academic Affairs. He studies human rights, political philosophy, and legal philosophy. His book, Human Rights as Human Independence: A Legal and Philosophical Interpretation appeared in 2022 from University of Pennsylvania Press, and he has published widely in academic journals. He also served from 2008 and 2011 as president of Amnesty International Argentina.

Enrique Peruzzotti serves as a professor of Political Science and International Studies at Torcuato Di Tella University. His research centers on questions of civil society, political engagement, human rights, and democracy in Latin America. He has authored numerous articles on these topics, as well as several edited volumes, including Critical Theory and Democracy: Civil Society, Dictatorship and Constitutionalism in Andrew Arato’s Democratic Theory (Routledge 2013, with Martin Plot) and Decada Ganada? Evaluando el Legado del Kirchnerismo [A Won Decade? Evaluating the Legacy of Kirchnerism] (DEBATE, 2015, with Carlos Gervasoni). He has held visiting positions at the University of London, University of New Mexico, and Universidade Federal do Minas Gerais, among other institutions, and has held fellowships at the Woodrow Wilson International Center, the Center for Civil Society of the London School of Economics, and from the Guggenheim Foundation and Fulbright
