Gert Mattenklott: (1942-2009) German expert in comparative literature, philosophy, and history, with an emphasis on Jewish studies, aesthetics, and globalized literature. Mattenklott taught at the Philipps-Universität Marburg, at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and at the Peter-Szondi-Institut of the Free University of Berlin. He authored and edited numerous books including Der übersinnliche Leib. Beiträge zur Metaphysik des Körpers (1982).
